Ko wai au?

Who Am I?

But first let us ask and answer the question, to whoms do I come from?

From which moana did my ancestors come in from on their great migrating waka?

From which mountain tops did my ancestors graze and gather kai from?

From which river beds were my ancestors geneaology tohi start?

Whoms Am I gives me a stronger sense of who I am, for I am only but one tiny little part of the tapestry to the great korowai of whakapapa and pepeha of life.

My 'now' ties to the maunga, awa, moana, whenua ties me to our Atua Māori which in turn leaves me 'now' with the responsibility of taking care of the maunga, awa, moana, whenua.

Never to own these taonga, for Mana Tangata comes long after Mana Atua & Mana Whenua. We are but only the caretakers of the 'now'.
